NICOL KESSINGER ARROGANTLY TELLS THE DETECTIVE what will and won't happen in HER interview. Three days after Chris Watts murdered his pregnant wife Shanann and their daughters Bella and Celeste in Frederick, Colorado, his girlfriend Nichol Kessinger sat down with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation. This is the part of that interview — the section after she introduces Jim, the friend who arrived at her apartment minutes before Chris's text saying his family was missing.

Nichol Kessinger had been seeing Chris Watts for six weeks. He had told her he was separating from Shanann. He had not told her Shanann was fifteen weeks pregnant.

On Monday 13 August 2018, while Chris was killing his family and disposing of their bodies at the Cervi 319 oil site, Nichol was at work. By 3:00 PM she had clocked out. By 3:45 PM she had received a text from Chris that said his family was not home.

This portion of the interview covers what Nichol describes as the next several hours: Jim's arrival at her apartment, the texts and calls between her and Chris, her own movements, and her decision not to involve Jim further in the investigation. The detective Kevin Koback offers Jim as a verification witness for her timeline. Nichol declines.
