Marcelo Garcia: 1 Leg X Guard vs Folding Pass

2 Part Lesson -- Marcelo enters Single Leg X from a Reverse Hook Lift against a resisting opponent: The moment your Butterfly Guard has it's wings smashed together with a Folding Pass, immediately bring your knees together while maintaining your hooks on your opponent's legs so that you prevent them from readily wedging their knee in between yours for a Dope-Mount (Modified Leg-Drag, Empty-Half, Reverse-Turk, Iowa-Ride, et al.). Place both of your Butterfly Hooks against your opponent's thigh and lift them up for Single Leg X. Use your foot on the hip to help create distance. Scoop up your opponent's leg on top of your shoulder and take out the trash. [04:56] If your opponent fights you from entering into Single Leg X when applying the Hook Lift, shoot your bottom leg under and hook your heel against their hip as you look to break off any grips on your collar/lapel. Scoot under while using your foot to help push your opponent away so you can take their weight off of you to complete the entry.
