John Prine Performs 'Ballad of a Teenage Queen' in Celebration of Cowboy Jack Clement
On November 19, 2019, John Prine joined other friends and collaborators to honor songwriter, producer, and Country Music Hall of Fame member Cowboy Jack Clement, celebrating the donation of Clement's prized Gibson J-200 guitar to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum’s permanent collection.
"This is a joy for me," Prine said, picking the guitar Clement simply called "my baby," and performing Clement composition “Ballad of a Teenage Queen,” a hit for Johnny Cash in 1958.
For more about Clement (and the Museum's ever-growing collection), visit CountryMusicHallofFame.org. The donation was made possible through a generous grant from the Willard and Pat Walker Charitable Foundation.
