US TikTok Ban | Trump To Give Three Month Extension To TikTok | Trump Latest News | N18G

Trump plans to announce a 90-day reprieve for TikTok on Monday, easing fears of a shutdown set for January 19. TikTok's 170 million U. S. users are worried about the app's future, while the White House has dismissed TikTok's shutdown warning as a stunt. Biden stated the decision will be up to Trump after inauguration. The U. S. Supreme Court upheld a law requiring TikTok to sever ties with its Chinese parent company, ByteDance, by Sunday. TikTok CEO Shou Chew thanks Trump and intends to attend his inauguration. TikTok has gone offline in the US, hours before a new law banning the platform was due to come into effect.

A message appearing on the app for US users said a law banning TikTok had been enacted, meaning "you can't use TikTok for now". "We are fortunate that President Trump has indicated that he will work with us on a solution to reinstate TikTok once he takes office," it read.

President-elect Donald Trump has said he would "most likely" give TikTok a 90-day reprieve from a ban once he takes office on Monday.
