Sutherland, Resnik, Sills et al. sing excerpts of Die Fledermaus: ACT 2 (improved sound!)

Beginning with the famous couplets of Orlofsky, "Chacun à son gout" (0:37), this is a marvelous excerpt of the Act 2 of J. Strauss II's opera, Die Fledermaus, sung by one of the greatest casts assembled to sing this operetta in the last decades: Joan Sutherland (Rosalinda), Beverly Sills (Adele), Regina Resnik (Orlofsky), Alan Titus (Eisenstein), Giuseppe Campora (Alfred), Joseph Frank (Blind), Spiro Malas (Frank), Jake Gardner (Falke). The conductor is, of course, Richard Bonynge.

This is now a legendary performance of Die Fledermaus, dating from October 1980, in San Diego. Probably the one and only time where 3 of the best female singers of the 20th century sang together. The sound of this in-house recording was moderately cleaned and improved by me.
