Free Vascularized Fibular Graft Surgery at Penn Orthopaedics

Scott Levin, walks through the steps of free vascularized fibular graft (FVFG) surgery, which is an elective microsurgical procedure used to treat patients with avascular necrosis of the hip without femoral head collapse. Dr. Levin is one of the few orthopaedic surgeons in the country performing this complex surgery as an option for hip joint preservation.
