The Ryugyong Hotel in Pyongyang, North Korea is a $750 million project that started back in 1987. But more than 30 years later and it’s still not finished. In fact, it’s even earned itself a nickname-- the Hotel of Doom. This nickname comes from a few places. First, the hotel’s entire inside is incomplete and it’s completely abandoned. Second, construction was done in concrete, and some experts believe the hotel could fall apart if construction moves forward without necessary renovations. But North Korea isn’t giving up quite yet. Over the past few years, multiple companies have tried their hand at reviving construction. The epic building has even earned itself a second nickname-- the 105 Building-- after its 105-stories. And standing at 1,080 feet tall, the huge glass-panelled skyscraper is impossible to miss.
