SoCal Light Line Sight Fishing for Corbina in the Surf

Enjoyed a nice session of light line surf fishing with an 18" and 20" Corbina in July 2019. Was able to spot multiple Corbina patrolling the ultra skinny water this morning and was able to get 2 to play. Almost made the adjustment too late but switching from a 1/2 oz egg sinker to a 3/4 oz helped me get the 20" bean during the last 15 minutes of my session.

One key to light line surf fishing is to use the lightest weight possible to allow for a natural presentation and drift in the wash. I normally run a 1/8th to 1/2 oz sinker but I switched to a 3/4 oz at the last minute due to a strong undercurrent, and it paid off.
