Exploring the Brooklyn of Seoul: Seongsu Adventures

This week I ventured around the hip little neighborhood of Seongsu-dong. It's close neighbors are Konkuk University and Seoul Forest, so there's lots of energy around here. It's known as the Brooklyn of Seoul because of its industrial buildings that have been renovated to house art studios, cafes and some of the best vintage shops in town.

And, did you know Seongsu-dong was once home to Korea's largest village of handmade shoemakers? At one point, nearly 70% of the handmade shoes in Korea came from this area! There's still a street where artisans maintain their shops to this day.
