Today I’m doing something a little different. I’m sharing a bassline by my first mentor Val Douglas. He was a member of the Now Generation band in the 70s and now plays bass with the Skatalites.

Now Generation was one of the top session bands of the 70s in Jamaica. Members included Val Douglas (bass), Mikey Boo Richards (Drums), Earl “Wire” Lindo (organ), Robbie Lyn (piano), Geoffrey Chung (rhythm guitar, organ), Mikey Chung (lead guitar).
