Ultra-Wideband (UWB) Smart Car Access Explained by Continental and NXP
Continental and NXP are global leaders in secure car access. Through joint development programs, the two companies set out to transform the way we unlock and start our vehicles.
The driving factors were protection against car theft from relay attacks and turning smartphones into car keys while offering the same level of convenience, safety, and security as state-of-the-art key fobs. The two companies found that Ultra-Wideband (UWB) is the answer.
Ultra-Wideband (UWB) is a wireless connectivity technology that securely determines the relative position of peer devices with a very high degree of accuracy for automotive, industry, mobile, and industrial applications. Adding spatial context to devices and objects allows for new seamless user experiences.
