The Simplicity SRT is the least expensive class B model available in Roadtrek's lineup. It is designed as an entry-level RV and so it has just the essentials and nothing more.
It is built on the Ram Promaster 2500 chassis. That means it is one of the shortest camper vans available here in North America coming in at just 19' 7". Driving and parking this camper van is going to be similar to driving a normal car. It's designed for 2 people but if you opt for the electric sofa bed configuration that replaces the permanent bed there are an additional 3 seatbelts in the back: two of which are 3-pt seatbelts. The Simplicity SRT competes with just a few other 19 foot gas powered camper vans including: the Zion SRT, the Hymer Aktiv 1.0, the Carado Banff and the 17 foot Carado Axion all built by Erwin Hymer Group North America.
As far an engine specs: the Promaster 2500 is powered by the same engine that powers all Promasters: a 3.6L V6 gas engine with a 6 speed transmission that delivers 280hp and 260 lbs. feet of torque. This is not a 4 season coach which means that its water lines and tanks are exposed to the elements and you will need to winterize it.
On the inside you get one layout option which is the rear permanent bed configuration with your galley along the passenger's side and your bathroom midsection along the driver's side. You can upgrade to a rear electrically reclining sofa bed option. The galley has everything you need including a compressor refrigerator, a non-convection microwave, propane stove and sink. The bathroom is a 3-piece wetbath which means the shower, toilet and sink all share the same space. Your one and only lounge is in the front where a pedestal table can be setup between your two cab seats when swiveled around. You have only 1 interior décor option which is a shadow interior fabric and solid cherry wood cabinets.
But the big strength of the Simplicity is that it is simple. You've got everything you need in a small 19 foot gas powered van and nothing you don't. There is no solar option, no lithium option, no remote start. There's not even a standard generator. Your lead acid batteries are charged simply from your engine alternator. You can opt to upgrade to a second alternator for faster charging but the point Roadtrek is making is that for some people - a simple, affordable camper van is all that's needed.
And affordability is what you're going to get with the Simplicity SRT. I've seen dealer advertised prices for fully optioned models - those are models that include the underhood generator, the rear electric sofa bed, rear and side screen doors, the outdoor shower and the TV all for less than $75k. But if you really want to keep it simple, base models can be found for around $65k. And keep in mind that like all Roadtreks, the Simplicity SRT also comes with their industry leading 6 year, transferrable warranty and 2 years of roadside assistance.
