When I hear this song, I think about the importance of being able to love yourself first before seeking out a relationship. We need to be able to love and respect ourselves. To understand our insecurities. To figure out who we are without somebody else in the picture.
Self love isn't found in another person. Self love can only be found within you. Be confident in yourself without needing someone else to find that strength. Be okay with being alone when all of your other friends might be dating or engaged or married. Figure out what it is that makes you you. Love and respect yourself as you would hope that your future someone would love and respect you.
