Approximately 80 million tons of plastic are dumped into the ocean annually. Due to its components, it takes 450 years before it degrades. Even with these years, they don't completely disappear but instead, shrink into small pieces that are now called microplastics. These plastics that people dump can cause a lot of damage to our marine life and environment which can also lead to negative impacts on human health.

Many scientists have said that if we don't do something about this, we are at risk of facing irreversible negative outcomes. Good thing a lot of companies have already started initiatives in cleaning up the ocean.
