(12/22/20) NASA Authorization update

This week the FY21 NASA Authorization bill passed the Senate - but because the House hadn't passed it, the bill will need to be reintroduced next year.

This is good for the Foundation as we push for the SPACE Act of 2021 because there was a broad coalition of supporters for this authorization AND said bill included a number of proposals that we can really get behind including but not limited to:

- The US should continuously maintain "human presence in low-Earth orbit and beyond the useful life of the ISS..." (Section 208)

- Support for US commercial development in LEO(Section 211)

- Creation of a Space Exploration Fund which would essentially serve as a tool for NASA to fund commercial space projects in LEO and beyond (Section 215)
