Feeling stressed? Burnt out? Drink this
The almighty adrenal cocktail!
Most of us are dealing with some level of chronic stress.
And one of the most overlooked ways this impacts the body is through our minerals and electrolytes.
Here’s how it works…
Sodium and potassium are two key electrolytes that help regulate fluid balance, nerve signaling, muscle function, and energy production.
At the cellular level, they work through something called the sodium-potassium pump - constantly moving sodium out of cells and potassium into cells to keep everything functioning properly.
But when we’re stressed…
Our sympathetic nervous system (“fight or flight”) is activated → triggering cortisol and adrenaline.
This also activates the RAAS system (renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system), increasing production of a hormone called aldosterone.
Aldosterone tells the body to:
✨ Hold onto more sodium + water
✨ Excrete more potassium
In the short term, this is helpful.
But with chronic stress? This system stays turned on too long.
Over time, this can contribute to:
→ Fluid retention + dehydration at the same time
→ Higher blood pressure
→ Increased potassium loss
→ Magnesium depletion (which further impacts potassium balance)
→ Fatigue, headaches, brain fog, muscle cramps, palpitations
And in many cases… things can still “look normal” on labs.
This is where supporting your body at a foundational level really matters.
The sodium, potassium, and vitamin C in an adrenal cocktail can be a simple way to support hydration, electrolyte balance, and overall resilience to stress.
Especially if you’re feeling burnt out or need a mid-morning or afternoon pick-me-up.
(And yes - for many women, this can feel WAY better than another cup of coffee.)
✨ Pro tip: try it after meals to support blood sugar stability too.
Have you tried an adrenal cocktail?
