The six meters high LR 35 from the product family of the Vertical Buffer Module from Kardex Remstar was integrated into the existing processes of Hella Distribution GmbH.

Solution finding:
In the discussions between Hella Distribution GmbH and Kardex Remstar, they decided that the LR 35 represents an efficient solution for the outlined requirements. In this case, a LR 35 with a height of six meters and one access opening for automatic storage as well as two openings for retrieval of the pre-sorted articles, was selected. Only seven months have passed from the conception to the installation of the system. Until then, six shipping lanes with seven pallets each had been used. These manual activities, such as manual allocation, which result in long search times and long walking distances for the employees, are now taken over by the Kardex Remstar LR 35.

The solution:
The trays, which transport the cartons ready for dispatch, are automatically transported via conveyor technology to the LR 35, loaded, scanned, and stored inside. The LR 35 manages the boxes until a departure for a country/region is called and then starts a complete retrieval list of the relevant shipping cartons. The boxes are then retrieved in a customer order, removed by an employee and stored on a collection pallet. With over 8,000 picks/day, Hella Distribution GmbH supplies its own sales companies as well as garages, wholesalers, and chains worldwide.
Thanks to the LR 35, they are no longer restricted in terms of capacity and have a permanent overview of the articles managed by the LR 35, which they can access quickly and easily.

A further advantage is that the transparency of the stored articles quickly makes clear which items are still missing from the delivery and which deliveries are already ready for dispatch.
