Drastic isolation measures needed to contain novel coronavirus spread: Expert

On Feb 3, China reported a total of more than 20,000 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus. The death toll also increased by 64 in a single day -- the largest jump in a day. The number of deaths now stands at 425. Neighbouring countries have also shut down their borders with China. Dr Connor Bamford, a virologist and Wellcome ISSF Early Career research fellow from Queen's University, Belfast, shared his thoughts on the outbreak, infections and border closures.
