Ruth R. Wisse on Comfort in a Time of Crisis

Late last year we launched the JRB Society to strengthen the Jewish Review of Books, and in March 2016 we held a small gathering in New York for its members, where--as in the magazine--we discussed Judaism, Jewish culture, religion and politics with some of our great writers and editors. As it happened, Ruth R. Wisse had just attended the new production of Fiddler on the Roof, and her talk on it was, as always, witty and provocative.
