Become A Better Archer by Focusing Your Anchor Points
Have you been shooting for years and find yourself not shooting better? Archery gives us the opportunity to change and improve constantly. One of the big game changers for me was switching from the standard one anchor point that I was taught from the beginning, to now using three anchor points before my shot and one anchor point for my follow through. This has given me far more consistent shots. By having three points of contact on my face, I assure that I am always in proper form, no matter if I'm shooting my longbow, self bow, or recurve. The final anchor point is often disregarded as it's for after the shot, but I argue that it is just as important as the others. Follow-through is important archery just like it is in golf and baseball. It assures you don't pluck the string upon release.
