Punyeta! A Filipino cocktail @mocktailwiz
Punyeta (aside from being a swear word in Filipino meaning “darn” or even SOB) is a Filipino cocktail made with Tanduay Rum, Iced Tea, and Pineapple Juice. Its name is believed to have been chosen because it is so good you’d exclaim punyeta! You’ll notice that most of these “classic” Filipino cocktails are very simple. My guess is that a lot of these cocktails came from local gatherings with friends and neighbors. I grew up seeing this. A bunch of people would gather outside (sa “kanto”, in a corner) with a small table, some chairs, a pitcher, lots of ice, and simple ingredients to make these “everyday” cocktails. Nothing fancy, but they are delicious and affordable!
I wanted to share these cocktails with you so hopefully you can try them. I mention the original ingredients in the videos and then I show how I make an elevated version of it and I also make it a mocktail. I usually use spirit alternatives so if mocktails are not your jam, you can switch the spirit alternatives with their boozy counterparts.

Ingredients:
* 1 1/2 oz Rum Alternative (I used @ritualzeroproof )
* 2 oz Hibiscus Tea (I used @republicoftea )
* 2 oz Pineapple Juice
* 1/4 oz Passionfruit-Citry Syrup (I used @portlandsyrups ) or you can also use simple syrup if this is not available in your area
* 1/4 oz Lemon Juice
* Dried pineapple for garnish (I used @cocktailgarnishco )
Instructions:
1. Add all ingredients except garnish into a shaker.
2. Add ice then shake for 10 seconds.
3. Strain into a glass 2/3 full of ice.
4. Garnish with a dried pineapple.
