Tokyo Run

On May 16, 1983 Northwest Airlines began training an elite group of pilots destined to fly 747s along the great circle route over the Pacific Ocean. The purpose was to ensure that the men who graduated became the best airline pilots in the world.

They succeeded.

Today, Northwest Airlines calls them 83-2. The rest of the pilots call them "The Golden Boys."
