AquaBrick™ vs Water Brick®
Great comparison video between the Water Brick® Container and the Sagan Life® AquaBrick™ Container, done by Adam Cabacungun of BeReady, Inc., San Marcos, CA.
Some good food and water storage containers are an important part of any survival and emergency preparedness plan, as well as being great for camping. So let's consider the differences and similarities of these two portable storage containers. Here are some highlights from the video:
The capacity of the Water Brick® is 3.5 gallons; the capacity of the AquaBrick™ is 3 gallons. Both are the same size: 18 x 9 x 6. These storage containers are both portable, which is an important feature. The only handle on the Water Brick® is on the top of the container, which makes it difficult to carry. The AquaBrick™ has two built in handles. The center handle allows you to easily carry the container, as the weight is evenly disbursed.
Both containers have a wide 3.25" opening at the top. The AquaBrick™ has no obstructions inside, making it easy to reach inside to clean or empty, unlike the Water Brick® which blocks access to the inside of the container.
The Sagan Life® AquaFunnel is a handy tool which fits on top of both containers making it easy to fill them with dry goods. Once filled Adam noted that the Water Brick® is not opaque, allowing UV rays to penetrate your food storage to some degree. The AquaBrick™ is completely opaque and allows no UV rays to degrade your long term food storage.
When emptying dry goods from the containers, Adam noted the handle on the Water Brick® makes it awkward to pour. The AquaBrick™ double handles give you good leverage to carry and pour, allowing the container to empty completely.
When using the containers for water storage, similar difficulties arise with the Water Brick® handles and overall design of the container, making it difficult to hold and pour out and empty completely.
Both containers can be used as an outdoor water dispenser for camping and picnics. Both Sagan Life® and Water Brick® offer a spigot cap which fits on the containers. The flow is much greater on the AquaBrick™ due to the internal airway (in the handle) which promotes more natural airflow. Additionally, the position of the opening of AquaBrick™ container is lower allowing all the water to empty out. The AquaBrick™ can be easily carried with the spigot cap still on, which the Water Brick® handle position makes it impossible to carry the Water Brick® with the spigot cap attached.
Comparing the sturdiness of these storage containers, Adam stood on each container. The walls of the Water Brick® were a bit crushed, while the AquaBrick™ withstood him standing - and even jumping on the container.
Additionally, the AquaBrick™ Container is an integral part of the AquaBrick™ Water Purification System, an ideal water purifier for camping, survival and emergency preparedness. The AquaBrick™ Purification System has been tested and proven by independent water labs to remove 99.9999% Bacteria, such as E.Coli; 99.99% Viruses and 99.99% Protozoan and Parasites. The AquaBrick™ System will purify ANY non salt water source.
