IPERION HS User Experience #3: Eslem Ben Arous, postdoctoral fellow at the Max Planck Institute
Eslem Ben Arous is a postdoctoral fellow at the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Human History and she is interested in the chronology of the Middle Stone Age of human settlements in Africa. Her interdisciplinary approach aims at testing the Pan-African evolution hypothesis and giving new dating elements to define the true contribution of West and Central Africa to the human evolution of Homo Sapiens.
The project granted by IPERION HS is a block of this huge research.
It concerns a chronological study of the Anyama site (Ivory Coast) through the analysis of a sediment recently excavated. CENIEH performed ESR analysis on five samples of optically bleached quartz grains to determine the radiation dose absorbed since their burial.
The video was created by CENIEH.
