Internationally renowned virtuoso of the Morin Khuur (Horse Head Fiddle) and Khuumii (Harmonic Overtone Throat Singing), Bukhu draws on the traditional folk music of Mongolian nomads and Shamanic culture to create his distinctive soundscape.

Bukhu graduated from the Mongolian Music and Dance Conservatory, Ulaanbaatar (2007) with a Masters in performing the traditional Mongolian Long Song. This song may last for up to three hours in the performance realisation and commands from the performer not only physical prowess for its duration but also technical and intellectual virtuosity. The player has to tackle simultaneously a number of difficult extended techniques to conceptually convey a sense of meditational tranquillity.

Of particular note, the Long Song is recognised by UNESCO as one of the Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.
