How to get good, accurate, consistent boxing system measurements. The boxing system is used to measure eyeglass frames and lenses for sizing and finishing layout work. Accurate frame measurements are important for finishing work. Opticians use the boxing system to size a frame for individual wearers. Opticians use the boxing system to measure frames to calculate lens decentration for optical finishing work or optical finishing layout. Other boxing system measurements include segment height or seg height, segment drop or seg drop and the geometric center of eyewire openings. Opticians use the boxing system as part of their daily work.
