@Meet Roxy, She is the 2nd emaciated dog we have taken in Atlanta in the past 24 hours!!!! Hershey being the other. Roxy was a court case that came in to the shelter on July 8th, but was just released to rescue this afternoon due to her extremely poor condition. She was rushed to an ER vet there & we are waiting on more info. Roxy only weighs 20 pounds. She is anemic & Intussusception. This is life threatening and the only way to save her is to go into surgery asap!
"I’ve been fighting to live for weeks, please don’t give up on me. I’m only 8 months old & I have suffered so much in my short life. Kind people have been caring for me for the past 3 weeks & this is what I want in my life, love & compassion. The obstruction surgery was tough on me because I was so weak, anemic & emaciated, but I needed it to live. Then I got dreaded pneumonia because I have no immune system, but I very much want to live, so please stand by me! "
