Fishing for Winter Skimmers at Pool Bridge Farm Horseshoe

After a week of reasonably settled weather, the forecast for the weekend was once again turning very cold. I grabbed the opportunity to go early on the Saturday morning to Pool Bridge Farm fishing for winter skimmers on the Horseshoe Lake and hopefully avoid the worst of of the weather.

The plan....fish the 11m pole and cup in some fishmeal groundbait and damp leam with a few pinkies and maggots over the top to tempt a few skimmers and bream to the net.

If that failed or the weather turned sour then the trusty bomb and bread was also loaded into the holdall.
