Samsung Galaxy S7 Active in 2020!

As part of my small collection of Galaxy S phones, I wanted to show you how far Samsung has come along since they started offering the Galaxy S line.

This is video #7 and the final of the Galaxy S series collection for me. Today we take a look at the Galaxy S7 Active, this is not the first in the Active lineup, it goes back to the S4. The S7 Active was an improvement over the S6 Active as it brought back the fingerprint scanner, expandable storage and a lower firing speaker vs the rear firing speaker of many Galaxy phones. Both phones are tough and durable and both have great cameras. The S7 got one additional version of Android over the S6 also.

The S7 was released in 2016 and came in 3 models, with the S7, S7 Edge and S7 Active. Improvements over the S6 included better fingerprint scanner, expandable storage , larger batteries and better downward firing speakers.

U.S. variants of the S7 came with a Snapdragon 820, 32GB of storage, 4GB of RAM, 5.1 inch QHD AMOLED display, 12 MP rear camera, 5MP front camera.

Although I think this was a great phone, one of the most common problems was the vertical pink/purple line in the display (which my model has). The only way to repair this is with a screen replacement.

Is this a decent phone in 2020? Yes - it still has decent specs and can provide a decent experience, however if it needs a new display, OLED screens are still more costly than the phones are usually worth. Battery replacements for the Active models are also difficult.
