In today's episode, we talk about the total cost of the supercharger part of the Celica build that has been occurring on my channel for the last few months and if I think you should do the same. It was much more than I expected but I guess that is part of the associated costs that come up when making an engine that was never F/I from the factory take on boost. If you are strapped for cash and want to make your car more fun, invest in suspension modifications and some nice tires to make this thing feel like a go-kart. Also, I purchased a new microphone and am still figuring out the settings for the videos, so please don't roast me on the audio! I wanted to get something out while feeling under the weather and this is the best I could do.

COST BREAKDOWN:
Supercharger Price and Shipping: $2577
Apexi Power FC + Commander + Datalogit: $770
Coolant Flush: $46
Oil Change: $32
Oil Filter: $9
Hardware: $35
Belt: $22
(Extra Belt that was the wrong size): $22
uHaul Rentals: $139
Methanol Kit: $90
Tuning and Methanol Kit Installation: $3162 USD
Gas to and from Canada: $~300

I'm sure I'm forgetting some things but these were the basics. We saved a LOT of costs on labor by installing the kit myself, which probably would have taken me a weekend to do if I did it all at one time. I wish I could have saved costs on installation of the methanol kit as well, but I simply didn't have time. I hope this helps everyone who plans to go this route and gives a detailed baseline for what people end up paying when going forced induction on these motors.

Again, my personal views say that it's really not worth it unless you love the car, $5000 in a different platform can really go a long way if the platform is factory turbocharged. Of course, if you love these things and want to keep them for a very long time - I say go for it!
