I stayed in the Mandalay Bay Suite 135 directly ABOVE the shooters room.

My girlfriend and I upgraded our room in the Mandalay Bay to the Horizon Suite and we found ourselves sleeping in the room directly above the suite where the Mandalay Bay shooter stayed three years ago, and it was a very strange, and eerie experience. His room was 32-135, and ours would have been 33-135 (before they renumbered the floors).
We had the same view and vantage point that this guy had overlooking the festival back on that infamous day of October 1, 2017.
We had the same suite layout and most of the same furniture as well.
Despite our room not being THE room where he stayed, this is as close to being in his room while not actually being in THAT room. You could easily get a sense to what he saw and maybe even felt the days leading up to the tragic night. The man who decided to go on some fanatic shooting frenzy took his own life in a gruesome manner beneath the floors of our suite. We took the same elevator that this man likely took, and we walked through the halls that he walked through with his knowingly malicious intent.
An entire wing of the 32nd floor where the incident took place is completely blocked off, and the floors were renumbered, but the feel, the look, and the setting of how it all felt three years ago seems to have remained rather unchanged.
