In Season 15, Episode 7, Deandra Reynolds thinks she has a real chance at romance after flirting with an Irish doctor while Dennis Reynolds recovers in a hospital. Determined to make the castle smell good before the date, Dee heads into the countryside looking for peat moss, but while stopping for selfies she gets trapped waist-deep in a bog and slowly begins sinking. When The Waitress happens to pass by, Dee begs for help, but the Waitress refuses unless Dee can finally remember her name. Meanwhile, Charlie Kelly continues bonding with Colm Meaney’s character Shelley Kelly, now revealed as Charlie’s biological father. Shelley takes Charlie to the family cemetery and explains strange Kelly family traditions, including why their dead are thrown from cliffs into the sea. For Charlie, this becomes one of the first times he feels genuinely connected to a parent figure who resembles him emotionally and culturally. At the same time, Frank Reynolds and Dennis attempt to sabotage Charlie’s growing relationship with Shelley by inviting him to dinner and secretly serving food Frank intends as humiliation. Charlie immediately sees through the scheme and forces Frank to eat his own fake “meatballs.” Meanwhile, Mac spends the day at a seminary, questioning whether priesthood could finally give him a stable identity, only to realize that the priest he has been following around has a common attraction of others in the catholic church priesthood.
