THE TECHNOLOGICAL SINGULARITY IS NEARER (2029?)

Emmett breaks down the Technological Singularity and explains how the artificial intelligence explosion will alter human life. The technological progress of machine intelligence is approaching science fiction levels. Machine intelligence is set to outperform human intelligence by the year 2029. Human life could cease to be relevant unless we improve natural human intellect and create superhuman intelligence in the human brain through Neuralink or some other device. Super intelligent ai would out compete the human race in a post singularity world and it could change so fast that we would not be able to understand or control it. The technological singularity is an event that will change the world as we know it and it is important to be prepared for it.

Ray Kurzweil has estimates that due to Moore's Law and the Law Of Accelerating Returns, robots will be smarter than humans by 2029 and smarter than all of humanity by 2045. But for some reason, despite warnings from top minds like Elon Musk, ill Gates, and Steven Hawking, humanity is doing little to prepare for this tidal wave of artificial intelligence we are creating.

The term "singularity" was first used in mathematics to describe a point beyond which a given equation could not be solved. In the technological context, the term was popularized by Vernor Vinge who used it to describe a point in the future where technology had advanced so far that it was effectively incomprehensible to humans. This is sometimes referred to as the "intelligence explosion" because once machines reach a certain level of intelligence, they will be able to design and build even more intelligent machines, leading to an exponential increase in intelligence.

Some people believe that the Singularity is a good thing and that it will lead to a future of abundance, where humans can finally overcome disease, poverty, and even death. Others believe that it could be disastrous for humanity, leading to our enslavement or even extinction at the hands of super intelligent machines.

There is no way to know for sure what will happen when we reach the Technological Singularity, but one thing is certain: it will be one of the most significant events in human history. Regardless of whether it turns out to be a good thing or a bad thing, we need to be prepared for it.
