If I told you that there was a city where all of the buildings were precariously tall and narrow, and everybody's garages were turned into impromptu storefronts, you'd think it would be absolute chaos! And yet, thanks to a good street layout and good old fashioned entrepreneurialism, Phnom Penh shows us how to build an impressive stretch of urban neighborhoods while preserving all of the bustling activity that a good city should have. It's not neatly zoned, it's not prefab and uniform, but somehow it works impressively well!
