2013 NISSAN Quest - Spare Tire and Tools
Spare Tire and Tools
In the event of a flat tire, please follow all the advance preparations and safety precautions in your Owner's Manual.
You will find your jack and tool kit in the cargo floor box in the cargo area. Raise the liftgate and open the cargo floor box lid by pulling up on this strap. You'll find the jack in a storage compartment below. Remove its cover and you'll see the jack is secured in a holder. Turn the jack screw counterclockwise a few turns. This will release some tension on the jack so you can remove it. The jacking tools are located in a storage bin on the right side of the cargo floor box. Remove the lid to access the tools.
First, fit the square end of the jack rod into the square hole of this wheel nut wrench to form a handle. Then with your tools at hand, find this carpet flap on the floor behind the front seats. Lift up on the carpet flap and remove the insulation cover beneath it to expose the spare tire lock bolt. Fit the end of the wheel nut wrench over the exposed bolt and apply pressure, turning the wheel nut wrench counterclockwise. You'll see the spare tire begin to lower. Once it is fully lowered to the ground, reach under the vehicle and remove the retainer chain. Then carefully slide the tire from under the vehicle.
If your vehicle is equipped with wheel covers, you must first remove them to get to the wheel nuts. Do not attempt to use your hands to remove a wheel cover. The end of your jack rod is designed to pry it off.
Your Owner's Manual has explicit instructions and diagrams to help you safely proceed. Follow these and the other emergency instructions you'll find there. You'll also find further instructions on the label attached to your jack body. Proceed with caution when jacking up your vehicle, removing the flat tire and installing the spare tire.
