At the 2025 ACC Tipoff, Cal Women's Basketball Head Coach Charmin Smith told the story that after a road trip to Louisville and Notre Dame, her team was feeling kind of down. Instead of coming back and practicing, she had her team take out their frustrations by throwing paint at the wall. She credits this team-bonding experience for getting their team past two painful losses and propelling Cal into a successful season.
