Sankir or Proplasmos preparation/ base of the flesh color in iconography

The #Sankir is a brown-olive base color mix (#pigmentcolors + #eggtempera) used for flesh and hair. It is a kind of underpainting used in Greek medieval icon painting.
Its main colors are composed from:
🟨 Yellow Ochre
🟩 Chromium oxyde green
🟥 Cadmium Red
◾You add a tiny size of ombre (or black) to get the desired tone.

The first layer of sankir must be thin as a "small lake", the second layer thicker

🟫 The next layers are made with those main colors adding more white and yellow ochre in each consecutive layer to get to the lightest color of the skin.

As I said in the video, the meaning of those steps is when the "man" moves from darkness to light.

“𝙄 𝙖𝙢 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙇𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙; 𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙝𝙤 𝙛𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙤𝙬𝙨 𝙈𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙬𝙖𝙡𝙠 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙠𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨, 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙇𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚"
