Wise Anderson Protocol- Prostatitis: Clearing Up the Confusion Part B

Chronic prostatitis is often a misdiagnosis of a condition called CPPS, or chronic pelvic pain syndrome. For this reason, the treatment of what is believed to be prostatitis is often done with many different forms of antibiotics, and the results of these treatments are highly ineffective due to the absence of a bacterial infection in the prostate. Often times, doctors do not develop cultures to check for a bacterial infection, which leads to the misdiagnosis and faulty treatment; this is an erroneous procedure and often times the patient pays the price.

Prostatitis means an inflammation or infection of the prostate. The absence of a bacterial infection would render antibiotic treatment of this issue ineffective. For this reason, in 1995 the National Institute of Health renamed nonbacterial prostatitis “chronic pelvic pain syndrome”, or CPPS.

Dr. Wise defines the root cause of chronic pelvic pain to be similar to a “charley horse” or muscle spasm caused by anxiety, tension, pain, and protective guarding. The actual effective treatment for chronic pelvic pain syndrome, unlike the ineffective and common antibiotic treatment, essentially focuses on the muscles of the pelvic floor and the anxiety that forces these muscles to become tense.
