Homemade Chunky Sea Salt

What's it take to make big, flaky crystals of sea salt? Time, mostly.

We've made our own sea salt in the past by boiling several gallons of sea water, but we wanted to try something a bit different this time. Maybe by letting the water evaporate away slowly we'd get the giant salt crystals you see in all those fancy salts.

Recipe:
10 gallons salt water - Boil down to less than 1 gallon, then let the remaining water evaporate slowly over the course of a few days.
