IR Obstacle Detector Circuit Using LEDs DIY Sensor Project #shorts
IR Obstacle Detector Circuit Using LEDs DIY Sensor Project #shorts #shortsfeed #shortvideo
Today in this simple electronics project, I have built an obstacle detection circuit using an IR transmitter, IR receiver, two 1kΩ resistors, a red LED, and a green LED. The entire setup is powered by a 3.7V battery.
When I connect the battery, both LEDs light up, indicating that the infrared transmitter and receiver are aligned and there is no obstruction in the path. However, when I place an object between the IR transmitter and the receiver, the infrared beam is interrupted — causing both LEDs to turn off. This shows how the IR sensor pair can detect obstacles based on the presence or absence of infrared light.
This project is a fun and educational way to understand how IR sensors work in real-life applications like object counters, proximity alarms, or automated doors. It's simple to build and ideal for beginners learning about basic sensor-based electronics.
