When to Slow Play

Do you fall into this common trap?

You’re playing a tournament or cash game… it’s been a while since you won a hand... everyone around you seems to be stacking chips and you keep picking up 10-5 off suit and just junk…

Then suddenly… from the gods… two beautiful shiny red Aces!

What’s your instinct?

You want to get PAID! Right?

I mean how long ‘til this happens again... the tournament could be over before you get deal a big hand…

But how to get paid?

Do you want to trap someone, let someone else take the lead or bet small to make sure you don’t scare them off?

Is your instinct to SLOW PLAY?

If you get this wrong and don’t bet enough and get value for your hand you could be leaving a TON of chips in your opponent’s stack.

But, if you slow play and your opponent ‘hangs themselves’ you could stack them and transform your session instead of winning a small pot.

So to slow play or not to slow play… that is the question…

As ever we’ve got your back.

In this video top coach Ben Hales breaks down step by step exactly how to think about slow playing and take you through not only how to decide whether to do it or not…. but also how to put it into action and the common mistakes to avoid.
