Hyde Field - Washington Executive Airport closes
Hyde Field- Washington Executive Airport (W32) closed for good November 30, 2022. The Washington, DC area airport had been a vibrant general aviation airport dating back to its founding in 1940. But airspace restrictions put in place to protect Washington after the September 11 attacks, and the increasing value of the land for other development, led to the airport's demise.
