Making clean, reliable and affordable energy available to all is one of the greatest challenges of our time. TU Delft conducts research into understanding the Artificial Intelligence challenges involved, looking into how to design new AI techniques that will aid the transition to a smarter and more efficient future energy system.

On a small scale, Artificial Intelligence enables smart thermostats, or charging an electric car when energy demand and price are low. On a larger scale, TU Delft is - as just one example – working on a digital twin of the Dutch electricity grid. It replaces a number of practical tests that are often very laborious and costly.”. Our work is boosting the Dutch energy landscape, making sure that Artificial Intelligence will be able to contribute to a sustainable and fair energy system for all.
