Built from inexpensive parts, this thing is LOUD, small, and completely customizable.
👇Full guide with links, and wiring notes below!

PARTS:
AMPLIFIER MODULE
PAM8403 Stereo Amp w/ Volume Knob + Power Switch (Chironal GF1002)
✅Used in my build, compact, 5V-only
https://amzn.to/44s2dfg

EXCITER / SPEAKER
Dayton Audio DAEX19QLP-4 Exciter – 4 Ohm, 19mm
✅Used in my build — compact, LOUD, perfect for thin mask plastic
https://amzn.to/3TuzKPM
🧠Tip: 4 Ohm = max volume from PAM8403; 8 Ohm = cleaner but quieter
🧠Mount directly to thin material (helmet plastic, hollow resin, etc.)

POWER OPTIONS — CHOOSE ONE
OPTION A – USB Power Bank (modular, swappable)
USB Type-A Breakout Board
✅Used in test setup (USB-powered amp build)
https://amzn.to/4lsoe3A
🧠Optional: Cut a USB cable and solder directly (red = +5V, black = GND)
🧠Modular method, good for removable mask wiring or plug-play setups
OPTION B – LiPo + BOOSTER (internal install)
URGENEX 3.7V LiPo Battery, 850mAh
✅Used in my build, fits easily in mask, lasts 4–6 hours
https://amzn.to/3IlWcIb
🧠Want more runtime? Use a 2000–4000mAh flat pack

BOOST CONVERTER — CHOOSE ONE
Booster A: AITIAO Adjustable 3.7V to 5V/9V/12V (resistor-tuned)
✅Used in my build
https://amzn.to/3IFVtBJ
🧠Comes default at 12V! Desolder A + B resistors for 5V output
🧠I mark mine green with a marker after modding, helps avoid mixups
Booster B: Comidox 0.9–4.2V to 5V Fixed Output
✅Also tested, cleaner install, no resistor mods
https://amzn.to/4lQCrqN
Booster C: ABSOK TP4056 + Boost Combo (charging + 5V out)
🧠Great for sealed builds, charge LiPo + run amp from one board
https://amzn.to/3GJOPd8

CONNECTORS & WIRING
JST XH 2.54mm 2-Pin Connectors w/ Wires
✅Used in my build, makes batteries swappable
https://amzn.to/4lO0ruu
🧠Pro tip: glue a male JST shell to protect polarity when disconnected

90° Header Pins (2.54mm)
✅Used in my build, keeps amp + booster wiring clean and flat (alt = solder straight pins flat on board)
https://amzn.to/44JXnc6

MICROPHONE SYSTEM
Movo LV1 Lavalier Mic with Built-in Preamp (TRS Output)
✅Used in my build, includes preamp, clear signal
https://amzn.to/3FAUtxC
🧠Works in camera mode for onboard preamp power
🧠Send Tip to both L-IN and R-IN on amp; GND to amp GND

TOOLS USED
🔹Soldering Iron (fine tip)
🔹60/40 or lead-free solder
🔹Flush cutters - For trimming header pins, wires...
🔹Hot glue gun (low-temp preferred)
🔹Multimeter - checking polarity
🔹Heat shrink tubing (optional)
🔹Tweezers or small screwdriver
🔹Helping hands or third-hand tool (optional)

BUILD INSTRUCTIONS
1: Choose Your Power Method
🔹Decide between USB power bank or 3.7V LiPo
🔹If using USB: connect via breakout or cut USB cable
🔹If using LiPo: select booster and verify 5V output
2: Solder the Amp Power Input
🔹Solder 5V (VBUS or booster out) and GND to the PAM8403 input
🔹Use JST connectors or direct wiring
🔹🧠 Verify polarity
3: Wire the Speaker or Exciter
🔹Connect to L+ and L– or R+ and R– — use one channel
🔹Do NOT connect both outputs to one speaker
🔹✅ Mount exciter on thin plastic or mask surface for best sound
4: Integrate the Microphone
🔹Solder TRS jack or use a TRRS-to-TRS adapter
🔹Send mic signal (Tip) to both L-IN and R-IN; Ground to GND
5: Secure Everything in the Mask or Helmet
🔹Mount amp, booster, and battery securely
🔹Use foam tape, zip ties, or a custom bracket
🔹🧠 Allow airflow if amp is enclosed — Class D is efficient but can still warm up
6: Test the System
🔹Power up, speak into the mic, and adjust volume
🔹Confirm clean, undistorted sound
🔹If output is weak: check power level, speaker impedance, or mic contact

TIPS
✅Don't tie L+R speaker outputs together - it will short
✅Hot glue solder & connectors. Movement = breaks
✅Exciters work best on thin plastic
✅Use JST connectors for swappable battery setups
✅850mAh LiPo lasts 4-6 hrs
✅Movo mic green light = preamp ON
🧠test booster output before connecting to amp (confirm it’s 5V)
🧠4 Ohm speakers = louder / 8 Ohm = cleaner
