This is a follow-up to the previous video, Aramaic Project 471, in which we experienced the Syriac musical talent of young Juan Alencherry. In this video, we encounter Juan’s faith-filled family, which nourishes and nurtures his talent. His parents and siblings enjoy listening to him sing Syriac chants and encourage him to pursue his passion, even at this young age.

The video highlights the important role that families can play in reviving the Syriac heritage of the Syro-Malabar Church. In the absence of a proactive movement on the part of the Church hierarchy, such grassroots initiatives become a blessing. We hope this video will inspire other families to incorporate even simple Syriac chants into their daily family prayers.

It would be especially meaningful if the Alencherry family could pray the Lord’s Prayer during their daily family prayer, in the very words that Jesus taught his disciples. What an honor and privilege that would be!
