Kyrie Irving might retire which is something I thought I wouldn't say this year. Cause he's banned from playing any of the games and because he would retire if he's traded.

And the crazy thing is that it won't be because he's vaccinated or not. It's because he's moved on.

Fans and media, I feel like they tend to forget that players are human beings too. It's just that their decisions, especially in the work place are in the spotlight with thousands of people weighing in. I understand Kyrie's said some weird things over the years.

And with a player like Kyrie who is a multiple time All-Star, an NBA champion, the guy LeBron said could win an MVP, and now on one of the most stacked teams in NBA history on the Nets with Kevin Durant and James Harden, a team that has to this point not lived up to their potential, it's gonna be worse.

There's the Stephen A. Smith's of the world that find this behavior absolutely disgusting and that Kobe wouldn't approve. First of all Stephen A. Smith, you can't be speaking on behalf of someone who is passed away just to add to your point. Second of all, all Kyrie did that time was not speak to the media, and Stephen A lost it. RELAX. The media goes over the top if a player takes a stance that hurts them. For instance, a player deciding not to play is bad for ratings and thus bad for them. A player not giving interviews means less content. And so they turn against that player and still use his name for views.

I don't believe the issue is whether to get vaccinated or not for Kyrie, I feel like that's more of an excuse for him to get away from basketball.

In fact, Kyrie is actually not even against the vaccine. According to the Athletic, he's upset that people are losing jobs because they refuse to get the vaccine due to the mandate.

Kyrie has been progressing towards this for the past few years now. Look at last year and the amount of personal time.

In interviews, he's even refused to answer questions about basketball because other worldly issues, stating that he can't focus on basketball because of dehumanization, because of people in bondage, because of issues overseas.

What we don't talk about is all the philanthropy and community work Kyrie does. He's not just talking about these issues, he's put his money where his mouth is. Just one quick search will show you how many times in just the past 2 years alone, he supports different causes. He's even donated 1.5 million dollars to cover WNBA players who would skip the season due to personal, professional, health, or safety related issues.

The only issue that I see is that Kyrie is doing this while getting paid to do a job that he is not doing. If he wants to move on, that's cool, just move on and free up the cap space so the Nets can continue to improve. The only reason why this doesn't seem as important is because the Nets also have Kevin Durant and James Harden, but imagine if they only had KD and Kyrie. Kyrie not playing would derails their whole championship aspiration. But on principle, this just ain't right.

For the Nets, honestly this isn't the worst thing. Kevin Durant himself is enough to carry a team far. Add James Harden who has clearly shown that he can be a facilitator, and when healthy, a second or third scoring option. Not having to integrate Kyrie into the mix might make it simpler and easier. Could the Nets be better with Kyrie? Absolutely. That doesn't mean that they would reach their potential, and maybe there just isn't enough basketball to share. We don't know that because they've only played like 7 games together. 7 games...

And because the Nets now also have Patty Mills, Blake Griffin, LaMarcus Aldridge, Paul Milsap, why is that list so long, Joe Harris, maybe in the playoffs, the Nets have multiple options besides 2 of the undisputed top 10 players in the NBA. And just getting all these pieces to fit is a task in itself because again, either they are new acquisitions, or some of these players barely played with each other. So integrating Kyrie would be tough and I don't know if Steve Nash is the man to do all that at a high level. KD really saving him. Trading Kyrie might not work simply because he may retire. If it does, I'd say just get some really good defenders man, cause honestly that's what the team is missing.
