Hailed by many as a maverick and innovator, Michael Tilson Thomas (MTT) assumed his position as music director of the San Francisco Symphony in 1995, forming one of the most inspiring and successful musical partnership in the country. The Orchestra and MTT have been praised throughout the years for their outstanding musicianship, innovative programming, highlighting the works of American composers, and bringing new audiences to classical music. Along with a successful tenure at the San Francisco Symphony the two have launched a PBS television series "Keeping Score," which aims to help make classical music more accessible to people of all ages and musical backgrounds.

Winner of the Avery Fisher Prize, Gil Shaham is a world famous violinist. Shaham has enchanted audiences around the globe with his flawless technique and dynamic stage presence.
