The Govt hopes hiring credits and wage subsidies will make a dent in youth unemployment | ABC News

The Treasurer will be hoping the $4 billion he's spending on the newly-announced JobMaker hiring credits, to partially subsidise the wages of young workers coming off welfare support, will make a dent in the youth unemployment rate.
If it doesn't, the pandemic-induced employment shock may further entrench a widening wage gap between generations.
