WEIRSBEARD WEDNESDAZE: GONZO FOREVER, VOL VIII, THE LAST CHARLIE ROSE INTERVIEW

WBW VOL I, EPISODE 34

HST returned to PBS' Charlie Rose Show for the last time on October 30, 1998 to discuss the publication of his first novel, the infamous "Rum Diaries."
Written when HST was a young wire-services stringer working in San Juan, Puerto Rico, the book lay dormant for decades as Thompson blazed a pathway for himself as the premiere "New" or "Gonzo" journalist of his or any time. Eventually, unlike the equally notorious "ScrewJack" novella, the book was rolled out by HST's publisher during the "Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas" 25th anniversary "craze."

***All Kind Kahntent on this channel is from the WB personal archives and is presented as such in all its low-tech glory for the enjoyment of the Deadhead community & Fellow Travelers.
The WB channel does not own the rights to anything and is not a professional-grade or even "Pro-Am" operation; there are plenty of other awesome channels on YouTube that offer those options, including in our own Deadhead community, for those who are interested.
The WBW Project is intended as a place for the community to come together and appreciate the joy, communion and universal friendship this and all music can engender.
Just think of it as a shadowy, smoky collection of beautiful half-memories mingled with your acid dreams and the joy of divine moment. After all, it's just a drum-circle, stoney-evening rap-session, hallway spinning, balloon-bouncing jam a click away...
