So what are these 3 ways to find clients on LinkedIn?
1. Content Searches - Simply go to the search bar, click into it, and click "content", then type in variations of the phrase "hiring" or "we're hiring" or "hiring now, "I'm hiring" etc. Be sure to add your city's name to that search query as well such as "we're hiring" + Seattle. What this does is crawls all of the content posts on LinkedIn where someone has used the phrase related to hiring, and thus you'll find a TON of decision makers, founders, C level decision makers that have posted that they are hiring. You can even filter down to the last 24 hours to see the most up to date content. Connect direct with the people who have posted and start a conversation. The rest is history.
2. Finding Marketable Candidates or MPC's (Most Placable Candidates) - This is huge. So most of the time we're looking for clients that we can sign an agreement with and place candidates for. This is flipping that around and finding stellar candidates and then finding companies for them. The way you do this is go into that search bar again, but this time search "people" and use the terms "seeking my next opportunity" or "seeking a new opportunity" or any variation of that. These are standard on LinkedIn. Next step is to connect directly with that individual. Give them a simple message. "Hi, I'm Ben with XYZ Staffing, and I saw that you were looking for a new opportunity and would love to introduce you to some of the companies that I know would be a good fit for you. Now let me ask you a question. If you're looking for something, and someone just walks up to you and says hey let me see if I can help you find that, for free, just to do it, are you going to say no? Probably not, so 99% of the time the potential candidate is elated. You then go off and seek all of the companies that this candidate is applicable for and you bust into them with emails and connections to their top dogs, by telling them you have an amazing candidate interested in speaking with them and you get agreements signed. 1. You're helping a job seeker 2. You're opening a new client if all goes well! #hacks
3. Searching Company Directories on LinkedIn - This is so simple it's almost stupid. So go into the search bar, type in any company you want to target or work with. Find them by hitting the "company" tab to ensure you're searching for their company. Once their company page comes up, on the right hand side of the screen there's a nice little clickable link that says "see all 100+ employees at XYZ company", CLICK THAT. From there, you'll be taken to a list of all employees at the company! Go through the list, look out for titles and particular roles of individuals that you think would be perfect to connect with in order to start a nice conversation. Maybe at a small company it's the founder, maybe the CEO, maybe it's the owner, maybe the director of "whatever". Just hunt and find and get a conversation started.
